Exploring the importance of motivation and inspiration in the change process

So in chapter one what we're really trying to do is get ourselves ready to change by establishing why we want to, what we're moving away from and what we're moving towards. The actual change literally happens in an instant. It's normally that the the lead-up is what takes the most time but it's important to establish the foundations for change before you actually go about it. It's it's you're gonna get a lot more success from the change process if you go through this first. So in lesson one we looked at things like what is your motivation to change and what inspires you. So I a friend of mine couldn't have I'll put it better himself. He was a surfboard shaper and he would surf every day. He said it was a part of his life. But even he said, you know, sometimes I don't feel like going surfing. You know, it's cold, it's early. He said, but I do it. And I said, well, how do you get the motivation to surf every day. And he said, you get the motivation to surf by going surfing. It took a while for that to hit home, probably many years, but it's the movement itself that creates the will. I guess you just sort of have to figure out what it is you want, and that is probably the most difficult part of the change process. Yes, like we can say, "Oh, I don't want that. "I don't want that. " But it's, you know, what is it that we do want. And for this, we have to look at things that inspire us. So it's a very easy process, especially when we have our body to use as an instrument for what works and what doesn't, for what suits us and what doesn't, for what attracts us and what repels us. When something enters our environment or enters our life, straight away we know whether it's right for us or wrong for us. We get the feeling that something's turn us off, we cringe, it just doesn't fit right. So these things that inspire us want us to, we want more of it. So if something, inspiration comes from the root word breath, to inspire means to breathe in. So what is it that we're trying to breathe in. If something, if we're breathing in something toxic, we get an aversion to it. On the other hand, if we breathe in, say we breathe in an image, if we take in an image, If we allow an image to come into our mind, if we conceive of an image, could be anything, could be a cave. For some people that might be a good thing. It might inspire them along a certain path. It might be something that they really, really, really like. For other people, a cave could be the worst thing on earth. You could have a waterfall. For some people that might be calming, that noise, that white noise. others that could be just too much. So each of us has these set of inspirations, these things, these energies, these feelings that we're aspiring to. And unless we can sort of identify those things and in dynamic self-awareness we use our body to do that. And unless we can find something that truly motivates And I'm going to say that it's not what you think it is. Again, I always come back down to an energetic understanding of these concepts and these ideas and things like motivation and inspiration. When you understand them energetically and conceptually, not just like what was sort of here on the news and on the radio or on books and podcasts, once you get a deeper understanding of these concepts, they're a lot easier to work with. So in lesson two we looked about what's missing in your life and do you feel that you're holding yourself back. Again this is a feeling we just get this sense that something's not quite right and it's good to actually hone in on that and to explore it more and I'm always saying to people question question question question, question. It's the act of questioning that's going to reveal the answers that you need. If you're not asking questions, and we'll go into this a little bit more in chapter 2, but if you're not asking yourself questions, then how can you ever get the right answers. So you really start to, you need to get straight with yourself. Do you feel that there's something missing in your life. You don't have to try and figure it out. You just have to decide whether there's something missing or not. And then the other, the flip side of that is, are you holding yourself back. What are you holding yourself back from. Why are you holding yourself back. It could be that the decisions that you're making are not the right decisions. That the directions that you want to go in are not the right directions. that maybe your body is telling you by these aversions that you're not on the right track. So you've really got to start to, as I said, question and really dive into what's going on inside your body. Your body's going to tell you whether you're on the right path or not. And from there we went into lesson three which was why do you want to change. And this is, it might sound silly Why do we want to change. Well, because I don't like the way I am. Why don't you. What is it you're trying to change to. What is it about where you are now that, that feels so wrong until you can understand again, this gets back to an energetic understanding. When we get an energetic understanding of these different aspects of our life, it will start to make sense. you'll start to understand why you don't like certain things and what it is about those things that you don't like and why changing something in your life is going to make life better for you. Again we go into this in chapter 3 when I start to talk about a person's energetic signature. Okay it's this energy source that I've found that feels very very familiar but I said we're going to go to that in chapter 3. But in chapter 1 what we're trying to do here is just start to question and start to shift our mind so that we can allow different perspectives in. If we can understand exactly where we are as a perspective then we can start to see that there might be other perspectives that just the slightest shift in how we look at something could completely shift the way we see something. Again that might sound poetic but as you go further into dynamic self-awareness you're going to see that these subtle differences are where it's at. This is where the real motivation to change is where you're going to find the inspiration and motivation for you to change. It's where you're going to see exactly what's missing in your life because you'll feel it. You'll know exactly what it is and once you identify it and once you can start to generate that feeling all the other things are going to click into place because you're either repelling or you're attracting it's as simple as that. You're either bringing things into your life because you have an energetic presence that that attracts that or you are rejecting things out of your life. Now if you are not actioning those feelings if you're not rejecting the things you need to be rejecting your life's not going to be going the way you wanted to go is it. So within dynamic self-awareness this is what we hone in on. We hone in on the feeling, we hone in on the intentions that we're holding and we try to bring those two things together. So let's keep going in chapter two. .
